When was the last time the MacBook Pro line was updated? Was it just this summer with the new MacBook Air?

I have a "Early 2011" MBP, actually not exactly the same, coz mine was shipped with OS/X Lion includes a new Keyboard to reflect new functionality (mission control on f3 and launchpad on f4).

Not sure but seems the wireless card also not the same with improved wifi/bluetooth.

"MacRumors has heard reliable confirmation that the next revision of Apple’s MacBook Pro line will utilize a new case design for the first time in several years."

    The reason I'm holding off.

This has to be wrong if there's going to be a minor processing speed bump...

Seems most sites say this month will only be a slight speedbump. New case is expected in 2012.

Why not just update once a year rather than twice a year? Confused...

What are you confused about? That they aren't on the update schedule that you want?

Once a year is not enough the way the market develops.

Mine is the 2011 MBP as well and mine shipped with Lion and I believe "new'' keyboard. Yet my F4 is Dashboard not launchpad but if I go into keyboard shortcuts in System Prefs it shows Dashboard and "show desktop" as being F12 and F11 respectively. But those keys are actually volume controls.
