I set my alarm for 2:59am. Logged onto the Apple Store app on my iPhone, refreshed until the watch was up, used the "favorites" link to go right to the watch checkout, used Apple Pay, went back to sleep at 3:02am. April 24 - May 8 ship date.
 
You may want to clarify that the times above are Eastern, not Pacific. I set 2 alarms and managed to sleep through both of them. I woke up around 5:00am EDT but still got a 4/24-5/8 shipping window on the stainless steel with Classic Band.
 
Did mine on the way home from a night shift on the train. Used the apple app, put in my card security code. Order went through at 08.24 am (UK). Got 24/4-8/5 delivery date despite being 23 minutes late.

My confirmation email was time stamped 3:03am eastern time so I guess I must placed the order through the Apple Store app within the first minute or so. SS 42mm w/Milanese loop with a 4/24-5/8 shipping. I was waking up every hour until about 2:40am and just stayed awake refreshing the app until the site came up. Went to favorites and could barely see but managed to press buy now, entered store password, card security number and completed purchase. Then proceeded to binge on macrumors for another 2 hours.
 
I needed to use a gift card, and not really knowing if trying to get it applied the next day would work or screw up the order (large gift card of $450, so I wanted to use it for sure), I had to use the website. I think it came up around 3:05-3:06, something like that, and my confirmation email says 3:08. So basically using the gift card and website screwed me out of the April date, I'm in the May 13-26 group. I'm hoping that because I'm presumably one of the first in that group that I may get moved up. I ordered the SS with black sport band.

Same, except it was 4:00am Eastern for me. Fortunate that it was my first choice.
 
My order is stamped 1:09. I just kept checking back on the Apple Store app on my iPhone.

1 minute makes a hell of a difference
 
I woke up about an hour before orders went live (8am here), but it was about 8:05 when I managed to get in front of a computer to order.

I very quickly looked through what was available (I was on the fence between several models), saw that the 42mm/SS/Space Black link had been pushed back until June which made my decision much easier. Went straight in for the Classic Buckle which still had 24/04-08/05 delivery estimates.

Managed to complete checkout in about 5 minutes, got the email confirmation almost immediately after.
