When will APFS support spinning hard disks?

It's been a while - any indication that APFS on MacOS is *ever* going to support spinning hard disks?

My guess (and it's ONLY "a guess"):
Probably never.

If you have platter-based hard drives around (who doesn't?), just leave them at HFS+ and be happy...

Didn't they originally say spinners are "not supported at this time". Typically when a company says not at this time, its probably going to be available down the road.
