I got the 256 gig 9.7 pro. I had the 12.9 inch at lauch, returned it because it was too big to be really portable. In hindsite i regret that choice and now want to upgrade to the 12.9

When will apple be taking those in as trade ins? there not on there recyclable site yet, and other places are low balling me.

Think that will be before launch date or after?

I want to trade in mine as well. I have the iPad Pro 9.7 inch 128WIFi Rose Gold with Smart Keyboard..I put it on craigslist for 620(Maybe Im asking too much?) so far all Ive gotten back in response is the usual scam emails..Best Buy currently is offering 285 for it which for me is just too darn little hoping for an increase by the time they release the new iPad

The 128Gb models are selling new for $600, might want to lower the price a little should help it sell.

Guys, why go hell bent on having the latest model? You'll lose money no matter what.

Is it that worth it? For a one model jump. I'd understand if you had the Air 1 or 2 to some extent, but this seems crazy!

That's the going rate now unfortunately. With the 9.7 being phased out completely and being replaced by a bigger screen with same form factor, faster cpu, gpu, more ram, better screen, 120hz, more base storage, its going to be hard to get a good deal selling the 9.7 considering the amount of upgrades on the 10.5

The easiest way to calculate the price is to

    1. Not include the accessories
    2. Take the current "brand new" market value (refurbished from the Apple store is a good yardstick)
    3. Multiply by 65%

That's usually a price point that will gather a few responses, although that might not be immediate. Rarely will people buy accessories with 2nd hand purchases, although perhaps the smart keyboard may be an exception - people are looking for the best deal for the lowest price, and rarely have the patience to factor in accessories in their calculations of perceived value.

Sell it and buy the new model.

Of course, you are getting low-balled. Stand fast or drop the price...your choice.

Act fast and cut losses, or just use it till it breaks as you save up for the new one

Lol, my preferred method. I usually get the top models (capacity + LTE) so first year depreciation is the worst. The sell and upgrade every year method works better for the entry level models.

I usually favour this method too, but my current use case is forcing me to act fast this time round.

So a lane veer back to the OP's question, does the collective here think Apple or BB will offer trade in options?

What I was hoping to hear, like my IPP 9.7 but it's value depreciates daily w/ the 10.5" now looming, so looking @ my trade options now.

I'll tell you what your options are. They are all poor. Very poor. $295 for a 128gb iPad Pro when you could easily net $150 more on eBay after fees and shipping.

Not sure why it didn't work for you. It's a link to the marketplace subforum here on MR.
