I'm afraid if I don't update soon my device will be bricked and I'll have to restore.

In the middle of several books.
You should keep up to date on the beta updates, or remove the beta profile from your device, so that your device doesn't get stuck.

Developers get a 'popup' when a beta is about to expire. I am not aware of the public beta doing that.

Any particular reason you're not updating?

Betas usually don't expire for a long time; Apple knows one might not be able to update the device in some situations.
