I don't believe Apple promised 5G for the iPad. Only 5G on iPhones in India.

It does look like Apple does support 5G India, but may not be the same as iPhone

iPad can connect to certain LTE and 5G networks in the US, Canada, Japan, Germany, UK, Australia, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and many more.

Why would they enable 5G only on iPhones and not on iPads when they sell 5G capable iPads in India.
