I can't believe they are still sold out everywhere. I don't plan to get one until I hear they fixed the bleeding issues cause im not throwing down 100's of dollars on a potentially defective product but I'm wondering, when do you think the iPad2's will start to be in stock regularly?

Since you're not interested in buying one now not sure why it matters, but the obvious answer is "when people stop buying them faster than they can be produced." Another 9 countries (mostly Asia) just started getting them so I wouldn't count on there being an abundance of units for some time yet.

If it's like last year, plan on waiting till end of June or early July before you can pretty guarantee yourself an iPad with a walk in.

That's how tight iPad supplies were last year.

The lightbleed really is an issue only in a dark lit room with a black screen. Heck my iPhone 4 has a backlight bleed. So does my LCD on my in dash GPS. So does my TV.

Just remember you can always return the iPad with zero restocking fee if you aren't happy (target, best buy, apple store).

if you want you can order one from the att store and wait a week or so. that's what i did. i don't see any of the leak you speak of. my dad uses it in the dark and low lit rooms all the time and he ain't complaining :D

Ugh, this. The backlight bleed has been SO overhyped. Yes, a few people have a problem bad enough to notice it during normal use. But anyone who has to actually run the "black screen on full brightness in a dark room" test doesn't actually have a problem. Mine has a bleed that shows up if I do that, but I have watched letterboxed shows on Netflix in the dark and seen no bleed, let alone when I'm using it in a lit room (which I am 90% of the time).

Apple stores are having some stock

The two Apple stores in my area both had some iPads in well after the special 9 am time today. Only a few models and it sounded like more white than black, but no longer sold out during regular business hours.

With the release of the WiFi iPad in China in two weeks and the WiFi + 3G in Hong Kong the iPad 2 Scalpers, like me, have stopped lining up and hiring people to buy all the stock. So yes, I think the iPad 2 will be easier to get starting next week.

Thanks for the info. Appreciate that. :)

Hopefully, like you said, I'll be able to find one at my local store (BestBuy, Target, or Walmart) next week. It will be great to finally get one after 7 weeks of running around like a headless chicken searching for one without success. :D

Apple manipulates it's customers perceptions of things like availability, with such skill it's just amazing.

Whipped into a feeding frenzy, the faithful scrutinize every possible scenario. I've never seen anything like it.

It's this masterful control over peoples minds that is a huge part of Apples success.
