When does everyone think it will be safe to just walk in to an Apple Store and buy the iPhone 4? I'm thinking around July 8-9...

If you want to hear some grumpy people, try calling an apple store and ask when they are getting new stock......

Today(?)

My local Apple Store (Bethesda Row) had plenty at 3pm yesterday for walk-ins. I had reserved one, and I just walked in at that time and was out the door in 10 minutes. There were no lines, for reserves or walk-ins. It was like that for the initial iPhone launch. Once the folks who waited overnight cleared out around noon on launch day, you could just walk in and buy one.

I don't know where you live but not that way here... the lines are almost like yesterday. It was about a month last year when things returned to normal...

i tried calling my apple store..and there is always more then 8 people ahead of me on the phone lines...
