How long have you had your phone? I've had mine for 3 months and I'm struggling to find new uses for my phone everyday. Since I'm an appshopper junky, I know about most everything (about 99%) that is available on the App Store and I'm seeing a depressing trend in what I have been seeing come out lately.

However, Google of all companies has been giving me hope because they come out with fresh ideas about every week and many of these idea and uses can be accomplished via the iPhone. Google has been very innovative lately - and very open and forthcoming too, which I find refreshing.

Have owned both the iPhone EDGE and iPhone 3G from day 1, if your trying to infer that I'm some sort of newbie to the platform as quite a number of people on here are.

Must be because of all the things I'm involved with through day to day life that makes my iPhone, my number one essential tool.

Fixed it there for you

LOL. :p

But, I have an OT question, sorry: has does one go about obtaining multiple iPhones? I know once your 18 months are up, you can get a new phone at the subsidized price. This would explain why people may have an EDGE and a 3G, but how do you get the extra. Do you have to go and buy the other one at an unsubsidzed price? So, if a new phone came out in 6/09 and my contract doesn't end until 6/10, I would have to buy the new iPhone at the unsubsidzed price? And how much is this (currently, for a 3G)?

I wasn't inferring that at all. I was just asking an innocent question that I really wanted to know.

The 3G iPhone I have is the current phone I'm using on my AT&T contract. Then I have a 1st gen 4GB iPhone (refurbished from Apple) that I use as a "backup" phone unlocked with an AT&T Go-Phone SIM in it. The 3rd iPhone I have is a 1st Gen 8GB iPhone I bought on eBay that I didn't particularly care for (the quality). I'm currently trying to get rid of the 8GB, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still in my possession. Also, I still love my iPod touch... it's been so good to me and it has way better wifi reception than the 1st gen iPhone.

Ok fair point. I Apologize.

As I said, must just be my uses for it I suppose. For me if I went back to say my old Sony Ericsson, I would actually be completely lost!!! The only advantage that thing had was the battery would actually work for an entire week on one charge, with really heavy use!!! :D

looks very old when compared with the palm pre. Even the pre interface looks more polished.

Um why in gods name do you need that many phones?

I'm still having fun with it. I have two iPhones white 16GB and a black 8GB. I alternate using them but I think I prefer the black one.

I can't imagine using another phone as long as I've been using the iPhone.

It seemed old to me as soon as I saw the Palm Pre.

Personally, the palm pre doesn't appeal to me, I don't really think it's the best of the best out there. And in my opinion the iPhone was, and when the pre was released, no doubt it caught my attention, but it just doesn't appeal to me as the iPhone does.

I'm love my iPhone, but I'm really lusting after that damn Palm Pre now. I WANT APPS TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND AND COPY/PASTE!!!!!

Don

Yep, Palm Pre just obsoleted the iPhone in one swoop. What Palm did in 12 months surpassed Apple big time. It's been 16 months with the iPhone and it seems like its been stuck as is.

I would love the option to have nothing but the wallpaper show on the lock screen (obviously with the lock slider also on the bottom)- no clock or date... or a home screen with just the bottom dock icons. i think they have that right with the palm pre. All I have is an iphone with ifart. Does anyone have an itums?

All you have is iFart? Where did all your other stuff go?

Part of the iPhone not loosing its newness is due to the number of Apps available. There's always something new available to play with, and lots of those Apps find a new way to remind you have high the phone's capabilities are.

Correctamudo!! Since you can virtually make this phone anything you want it to be, it can always be "something new" even to you.

However there are some who would disagree. "Palm Pre puts iPhone to shame" But every body has a right to have their own opinion, even if it's the wrong one.
