Hai all,

So I'm going to start university in september. I saved up years ago and bought myself a mid 2014 Maoook pcbook Pro at the time when they released them. I need/want a new laptop when I start university and I know new Macbook Pro's are going to be released this year.

My question.. Do you guys think the new MacBook Pro's will be the same price as the entry level Macbook Pro's they have in the line up at the moment? And if not when will the new redesigned Macbook Air be released, because I really don't like the touchbar and the fact it doesn't have magsafe, but my macbook is getting really slow so i really need a new one. I'm either hoping they redesign the entry level Macbook Pro's with MagSafe and without a Touch Bar and then you have an M1 chip. Or they release the Macbook Airs also this year and be a normal price range and not the high end macbook prices that I don't need.

So what you guys think? Should I wait for the new MacBook Pro M1X , are we expecting new Airs to be released soon? Should I buy a laptop from the current line up. IDKKKKK

New MacBooks might be announced in September or October, and then be available after that. If your September timeframe is the primary factor, go with the MacBook Air from the current lineup. Have you tried one?

Yeah, I really do not know. I want the new design without the touchbar and with magsafe, and the new chip. Ugh, I really hope they think about us freshmans who need a new laptop by September :(!

At this point, I would say the lineup is set for back to school. There could possibly be an August event but I think they use the back to school sale to move existing inventory more than anything and clear the way for the new models in the fall.

That is a shame.. I was really hoping for the new models, I guess I will have to wait or buy the new MacBook Air..

I agree...

I don't really need a new computer as I have an M1 Air but man that 14" Pro will definitely be calling my name and I doubt I'll be able to resist the buy button.... :D
