Wondering when the price for the Current 6 will drop. My daughter wants to upgrade from her 5c to a 6. I keep putting it off because I know the price for the 6 will drop some soon.

Usually after the release of the new one (pegged for first two weeks of September)

I believe it has always lowered on the same day the next version was either released or announced.

not a chance, if there's still people buying them not knowing their being replaced the next day you can be damn sure they'll charge them full price.

Ok thanks. Hopefully they will lower the price after the announcement and not wait until the 6s actually ships.

Price usually drops with $100. I can't remember if that's directly after the announcement, rumoured September 9, or after the next iPhone goes on sale, rumoured September 18.

I could be wrong, but sometimes 3rd party retailers lower prices before as long as you sing up for a cellular contract, it seeing as contracts are going the way of the Dodo, there may be less of that this time around.

Fairly certain it'll have to be after the 6(S) announcement. Also, if you want anything other than 16 GB, act fast, as sometimes larger storage of old stock is phased out.

The price will drop the same day iPhone6S is announced.

BestBuy/Walmart/Target might drop prices for higher capacity models a little bit earlier than Apple.

The prices have dropped at best buy for 2 year upgrades but as of right now Sprint is the only one left doing them. So if you can wait you might save $100 on the iPhone 6 doing the new carrieries installment billing plans, or for a few dollars more a month get her the "6s" and have that phone last her a little longer. Just a thought. by the way ALL CARRIES ARE GETTING RID OF 2 YEAR UPGRADES. Sprint is offering some nice deals on leases for the customers on older plans but keep in mind that in 2 years all 2 year agreement will be a thing of the past.

Thanks for all of the good information, looks like $100 off is what I should expect. Will keep a watch out for the price to drop, she would like to have the 64gb model. We have Verizon and her line is due for an upgrade but I will be moving her line to the edge program.

The price will drop on Apple's web site and Apple stores the day the new iPhone is released. Other retails such as WalMart, Best Buy, etc. can offer promotions on the "current" models from time to time.
