How does i7 taste? Sushi-like?
:D

For some seconds I thought that it was not available in Japan.
Have you checked Apple's web?
Where you got the idea that it is not available? A local store?

I am just laughing at how many people are responding to this thread of iMacs not having an i7 processor. The original question and statement is completely accurate. There was no way shape or form that iMacs had i7 processors when this question was initially asked. Come on people . . . check the initial date of this posting . . . 7 years ago. Someone just accidentally responded to it now, not realizing the question was asked in 2004.

What an own goal... Or are you from the future? o_O

For your information: there were no i3, i5, or o7 CPUs seven years ago AT ALL! How the hell would he be asking about the i7 CPU if the name was only officially released few years ago?!

score so far....

patent10021=he shoots he scores in own goal

dustin8675=he shoots he scores in own goal

at this rate, our home team could play without a goalie ;-)

So when will the iMac get the Corei9 Xeon Xploder processor?

As soon as its mass produced. Apple is getting the hottest new Intel chips just as soon as they can put them into new manufactured logic boards. The next change will be early 2012, and the next one after that mid 2012. Apple is rolling in cash, so they are already probably tooling for the next hot intel chip.

Oh ok. That's WEIRD. Someone shopping for an i7 would never know simply by looking at the store. Not very good marketing/sales.

The very first i7 was introduced as a BTO option on the late-2009 27" iMac in the fall of 2009 and I had no trouble finding the option when I bought mine at the Japan Apple Store. ;)

Hmmm now I need to decide if I need screen real estate or a smaller foot print for my small Japanese apt.

I'm living in a Japanese house, not an apartment but I can say that the footprint is surprisingly small even on the 27" iMac.

When will i9 be available for imac then? i7 is sooooo 2009.

Yeah... but not for you. Apple has taken down your name and ID, and the consequence of the facetious statement is that YOU will be denied a i7 iMac. Sorry. Big Brother IS watching.

I don't think there's much difference in performance between the two. Not really concerned about graphics. A little, but not so much that the difference in graphics cards would make a difference for me.

If you can't grep the intricacies of the Tech Spec link on the iMac page I'd question your need for an i7 in the first place. Never thought of the BTO options as being overly complicated, but that's just me.

Does anyone know when IE6 for Mac is coming out? :)
