When will upgraded 2021 MacBook Air M1 be available?

Leaker Jack Neill suggests there will be a MBA 10,2 with a M1S spec bump with 35% better GPU and 20% faster CPU but no redesign. The MBA 11,1 will have a the M1X will have 32GB ram available and will have about 40% faster GPU and 30% faster than the M1 along with a case redesign. Preorders will be available Sept 22 at 10:00AM PST after the Apple Event on the 14th.

No, mostly because I made it up. I might give Prosser a run for his money.

Next Air is supposed to gain the magsafe connector back again, so that's a huge plus for the future. Also maybe SD slot, brighter screen and new design. Plus better processor/graphics.

I'm waiting.

Just speculating, but I don't think the Airs will get SD slots or any further I/O options than they already have. Returning ports to the MBP is going a way of making the Pro a professional device again and adding value for those that need the extra power. The Air will remain the entry-level consumer device and as such will be kept minimalist.

I've had my M1 MBA for 24 hrs. now. I'm extremely impressed. Fast, cool and silent. And I've been using it on & off for most of the day, including a couple non-optimized apps (Dropbox, OneDrive and Citrix Workspace) and I've still got 72% battery charge left.

I'm glad I went for the MBA instead of the MBP. The MBA just feels smaller (even if the actual difference is slight) and for what I do, I don't see the extra thermal capacity of the MBP having any benefit.
