When will we switch to @icloud instead of @me?

Is this being updated with iOS 6?

I'm doing some important registration stuff that requires the exact email address. I have @me right now, but anyone know when it'll be @icloud?

Even if they switch (and there was nothing about it during the event) the @me.com address will still work, in the same way that @mac.com addresses still work after the switch to MobileMe.

so I will still get my emails if someone uses @me instead of @icloud?

You can continue using @me for the foreseeable future. I believe new accounts will default to @icloud(Horrible domain name).

I'm still using my @mac all these years later.

My Apple ID is mac, but I use me for email, because it is very clear and obvious when I say it out loud.
