While it is unclear if Apple will host an October event this year, or stick to press releases, rumors suggest it will announce several new products this month.

In any case, Apple will likely provide the public with advanced notice. The table below outlines when Apple teased its October launches over the past four years.

YearAnnouncement/TeaserEvent/TaglineEvent/Press Releases
2021Tuesday, October 12"Unleashed" EventMonday, October 18
2022Tuesday, October 18"Take Note" TeaserTuesday, October 18
2023Tuesday, October 24"Scary Fast" EventMonday, October 30
2024Thursday, October 24"Mac Your Calendars" TeaserMonday, October 28 to Wednesday, October 30

A handful of Apple products are expected to be updated as early as October, with the following new features and changes rumored:What about Macs? Apple's next 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips will reportedly enter mass production soon, but they apparently might not be announced until early 2026. While new Macs are often unveiled in October, there is precedent for a launch earlier in a year too, as Apple announced MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in a January 2023 press release.

Apple is reportedly also planning a lower-priced MacBook with an A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip, but the rumored launch timeframe for that is late 2025 or early 2026, so it is unclear if it would be announced this October. This model would likely be the spiritual successor to the MacBook Air with an M1 chip, which is still sold by Walmart in the U.S. for $599.

Apple recently announced its next quarterly earnings call will be held on Thursday, October 30, so any new products this month will likely be unveiled by Wednesday, October 29 at the latest, so Apple can recap the announcements on the call.

iPad Pro M5

Nobody needs more horsepower. These are already wildly overpowered.

Vision Pro

Literally nobody cares about a chip bump, especially on the heels of the Air model work being stopped.
This sucker is headed for the 3D Touch / TouchBar cemetery.

Ok. Just release it already FFS.
The constant "here comes the Apple TV update!" rumors have become beyond tiring.
Either poop or get off the pot.

HomePod mini

Is Siri better yet?
No?

There goes most of the interest in this update in that case.

Great.
👍

Maybe it will be some press releases, not an event for an M5 ipad pro and some other little things

With the amount of work they forced upon themselves by releasing so many bugs one would think they haven't got the time for an 'event'.

A new Vision Pro? Has apple ever reported the sales figures for the VP? Or are they lumping it into ‘other’ in their financial reports?

Correct: you can find it under 'Wearables'.

Make it a very compact pressrelease.
Otherwise I scroll the video to what sounds interesting.
I prefer skipping Tim entirely - so if Apple want to have any inspiring pre-recorded videos. at least give that task to someone inspiring dude at Apple - if there's anyone left 🥱😴

One is only supposed to have events when they have actual innovative things to announce - and since the level of innovation at Tim Spindler's Apple is close to zero, why even bother?

Just pre-record some "Mama Earth" or other praying hands nonsense again and be done with it.

One wonders how long Tim can string out this "formula" that has already become very tired.

Calling it - Invites on Tuesday the 21st, event on Monday the 27th, earnings call on Thursday the 30th. Too many new products for a simple press release.

Apple has really lubricated the bearings on their revolving front door. Folks are coming and going very fast with the net result it seems of ever lowering brain power inside the spaceship.

For reference is the ever increasing number of issues with every new piece of gear. Seems to be the "resolved issues" are fewer with each new generation. The same bugs are carried over for many generations of equipment.

I am getting more disappointed with the declining QC and lack thereof in both hardware and software. That coupled with the sour taste still in my mouth from last year's (2024) dog and pony show's questionable statements means my discretionary spending does not include Apple's products this year.

Going on a LEICA CAMERA binge instead. A camera gets through airport security easier when incoming from outside USA than laptops, iPads, electronic watches and iPhones. All that lovely data to harvest, don't you know!

My guess: press release(s).

And now that Apple is on a somewhat yearly cadence updating M chips, it is quite funny to read comments like "nobody needs this.." and such. Remember the Intel days?
Chip performance will continue to increase, year over year or so, just don't expect performance bumps like we saw from intel to M all the time.

Hopefully we get ‘Mac Week’ again. That let every device have its turn in the limelight, ending on a redesign. This year I reckon it’s the turn of the iMac to get some love. The M5 processor would easily allow them to halve its thickness down to the 5.1mm of the iPad Pro. That would look slick.
