Given people seem to think a new MacBookPro would be announced some time in 2016, at which event would Apple introduce it?

There was speculation it would happened at WWDC, but this obviously hasn't happened. So at what other events could it happen?

Whenever they want. After hearing, it was going to happen last fall, then Mar 15, 2016, and then WWDC (June 2016) for sure, I have given up believing in anyone ability to predict.

Maybe they will wait until next year when Kaby Lake portable processors are available. Rumor is Microsoft will not update Surface devices until that processor is available.

When Apple feels like it. Which could be tomorrow, or a year from now.

There isn't much to upgrade TO, at the moment.

Latest reports Indicate Late 2016/mid 2017 with delay with Intel/Kaby Lake. Doubtful for September Key Note.

There's no guarantee that the MBP will use Kaby Lake. The 12" MacBook was updated only a few months ago and now Kaby Lake Core M is starting to ship in the next quarter or so.

True. Being we are almost to August, latest polls are depicting a later refresh for the Pro's. I'm wondering what other hardware we might see at the Keynote. Apple Watch seems unlikely with Watch OS3 differentiating as whole new Watch accordingly. No iPads or Apple TV being their latest refresh. Just the iPhone 7. Seems glib at this point.

While, Kaby lake won't be available for the MBP until 2017, I have to believe Apple will move the 2015 MBP off of Haswell this year. Its been too long since we saw a meaningful update and even Skylake would be a welcome addition.
