My mac reckons i have catalina downloaded and its 8 gig and i want it gone. apparently its in apps but i can't find it. my computer is soooo ready to install it though. so where are these downloaded files kept? on a tangent, whilst looking for these files i came across the updates folder and its near 2 gig of who knows what. if its updates surely they have been used or aren't going to be or will reinstall themselves if necessary right? or wrong?
in conclusion, how do i delete catalina? and what happens if i delete the entirety of my updates folder?

thanks in advance people! :)

I recommend not to delete any of these folders.
What you could do to avoid automatic updates is go to preferences>system updates> advanced options and choose that it will not download and update automatically in the future.

You don't delete Catalina. You have to have an operating system. You can downgrade to a previous OS. Do you have a bootable device with an installer for your previous OS on it?
