Where are iPhone backup files stored?

Hi All

When you plug an iPhone or iPod into you computer, and it's linked to
iTunes - you can make a backup of your data ( which you can later restore ).

Where is this data file kept? Is it in iTunes itself ( Package > contents etc. ).

I thought it was name-->library-->application support-->mobilesync-->backups.
