I'm running 7.6 and there's no movie rentals anywhere...
You mean the rentals that were announced 1.5 hours ago?
Also, what country are you in?
Yes, the iTunes movie rentals. I'm in the United States...
yeah i dont seem to see them either...
HD without appleTV
does anyone know if HD rentals will be available within iTunes, without AppleTV? it seems to me HD was only mentioned along with AppleTV, but i would find this very disappointing.
you have to find a movie that's available for rental and then there will be a rental button. i can't find any rental though, there's only 100.
The service must not be live yet... If Apple really expects people to scour the site, browsing through thousands of movies, to find the few rentals available then this is their worst designed product EVER.
100 was the number for HD rentals. The SD rental number was like 6000.
Incidentally, I couldn't find any either. I even searched for "Live Free or Die Hard", since that's the movie they demo'd during the Keynote. They don't even have the movie in iTS yet.
Seems nothing is online yet.
What's up with that?
I'm certain SJ said during the Keynote that the HD ones weren't going to be available for a couple of weeks. The normal ones should be up though. Maybe you need an TV to get them immediately.
Strange. They say Top Rentals on their store page, but there is no rent button under any of the movies! (I am running iTunes 7.6)
I don't see them in 7.6 yet either.
Which brings up the question as to how exactly did Chuck and Buck (of ' A Chuck and Buck s**k and f**k' infamy) make it to No. 8 in rentals ?
Even in the best of times, I find that unlikely.
This might be SJ's rampant imagination, which this time obviously has gone ahead of reality.
I have an apple tv. Just checked for updates and there were none. I restored my apple tv and tried to update the software again, nothing. I also can't find the rentals on the itunes store. My conclusion, apple didn't update their server yet. and probably wont until the middle of the night when no one is awake. DAMN YOUR EVIL HEART STEVE JOBS
Thanks. I was starting to worry that the rentals were only meant for the Apple TV. Your probably right that Apple has just not updated their iTunes server with the new movies yet.
Watching the keynote right now. "we hope to launch with over 1000 titles by the end of february". So no luck yet.
I am currently downloading "300" for rent and see many more titles under Action/Adventure with broken links.
I can't believe the Pixar movies aren't ready to go but 300 is.
Still no rentals here.
Where are you seeing this? I upgraded to 7.6 but the iTS still looks the same as before.
Why are movies listed in the top rentals list but there is no option to rent them???
I noticed it says the format of the movie is Fullscreen! Yet, if you view the trailer within iTunes it appears to be widescreen.
When you get to the point where it's watchable can you confirm whether it is in fact fullscreen or is it actually widescreen as the preview in the iTunes store suggests?
In two weeks the update will be released, read and watch more carefully. Geez, before you bag on Apple, maybe take what they have to say.
Update -- First Sightings!!
Update...I just went back to the iTunes store to see what else may be available, and to my astonishment "300" wasn't even there anymore! Apple is clearly in the process of adding the rentals, but things still seem a little buggy. I did get to download "300" after agreeing to another EULA and posted a few pics.
