Ordered as soon as I saw that I could on these forums. I didn't even blink on that one.
That whole in-store activation was HORRIBLE last year. I didn't mind having to go to the store the first year.
But waiting while every one had credit and activation issues was really frustrating last year.
One girl, who was online a few people away, and had been in-line since 6 am that morning, left in tears that evening when her credit was denied and she didn't get a phone. I felt so badly for her....

AT&T store.
I've already bought the phone and will get to pick it up next week being able to stand in a different line from the people who haven't bought one yet. So it should go very quickly.
The Apple store let me "reserve" a phone which the fine print says doesn't promise I'll get one. So if I go to the Apple store I get to stand in the same line with everyone else, all with no promise I'll get one. What's the point of "reserving" again? 🙄
Now, it's possible my AT&T store won't get my unit on the 19th, but I can CALL them and see if it's there before I go over there. Either it will be or it won't.

online apple store. getting it shipped to my house. much easier than waiting in line only to find out it's been sold out by the time i get to the front. i remember with 2g and 3g, it took MONTHS for in-stores to be stocked to get one. this is the safer bet, IMO
I'm picking mine up from the Apple store. Online order and apple store sales tax are different, so store is cheaper after taxes. (Store is located in other county)
The reservation is not to reserve your phone. It is to help speed the process of purchasing your phone up so they don't have to take out those little handheld things and punch in all that info and such. Just pay and go, also if you want accessories, it will take time.
