I'm going to the mall straight to GameStop. My hope is that they have the PS5.

If not, I'll just go shop for clothes instead at other stores in the mall.

Also, if you know any deals please feel free to share!!!

My couch.
I will peruse a few online sites.
Other than that, some music, a good scotch, and maybe go for a stroll (beach).
I’ll leave the crazy crowds, driving, traffic, and frustration up to others to enjoy.

Did you see those videos of people getting run over bc everyone stampeded in? I forgot which store but it was crazy!

Black Friday is really some day lol

No place. We actually have everything we need. However, I've been looking to see if this Samsung T7 500 gig SSD would be on sale for less that $79.99 (a sale price now):

If it were, say $65, I would buy 2 of them, and sell my two Samsung 850 Pro 512 gig SSDs. Nothing wrong with the 850 Pro SSDs, just want newer technology.

Amazon. It’s to the point where I don’t shop anywhere else online, plus they opened a new regional distribution center 15 miles from my house, So now I’m receiving my items in literally one business day. Bliss.

I am also real close to an Amazon Fulfillment Center (about 5 minutes away). But there are times where one can beat the prices on Amazon, and especially good to do if you are in no need to receive the item quickly. A very recent example for me is that when I was looking at this Samsung T7 1 TB SSD:

it was $149.99 on Amazon, but I found it on Newegg for $10 less (and that included free shipping). I know that Amazon will price match, but I did not want to get on the phone with them and go through that. Just ordered it from Newegg.

And there have been times I've ordered items through Amazon, but they will arrive anywhere from a day or two earlier than what they state. I suspect that's because I am so close to that fulfillment center.

I actually thought about canceling my Prime membership, because I’m literally receiving my packages within one business day with no $3.99 charge (As in, that’s what they charge you if you want ‘one day shipping’ if you’re a Prime member), obviously the two day free shipping was always free. The only thing I use Prime for, is music and a few movies, but primarily I want to just the free two day shipping, (Because I have zero patience.😁)

Mine are so random or at least it feels that way. I assume Amazon is extremely prepared for Black Friday and will hopefully do a good job and sorting everything and getting everyone their packages in reasonable time

FWIW, we use an Amazon CC, so just about all purchases give us 5% credit back (for us, that's effectively cash :D), i.e., that SSD drive would only save us $2.50 vs. NewEgg, plus free / no hassle returns. It's just something we factor in when purchasing from other-than-Amazon. I do love me some NewEgg though, back when I used to build machines, that was my go to store for components. :)

Yeah, I don't see any reason to go anywhere* for Black Friday - especially now that the deals aren't nearly as good as they used to be. I'm all for 20% off, but I can do that online and save the time and headache.

*unless it's the liquor store!

Well, I used my Capitol One card when I placed the order atNewegg, and that card gives 1.5% cash back, so it was $2.09. Also, the free shipping did not cost me anything, nor required any kind of "Prime membership" sign up. I certainly am not going to go "crazy" with only 41 cents, as that is peanuts compared to the $10 I was initially saving.

Again, if one needs something just about immediately, Amazon is a very good choice (and since I live so close to one of their fulfillment centers, it's even better). But I rarely, if ever, am in that situation, and thus can shop around.

In actuality, Best Buy has an excellent price matching policy, and one of their stores is very close to me. So, I could use them, if needed. And (assuming the item can be picked up in the store) of course avoid shipping costs (if there are any) and delays. But of course Amazon has WAY more items for sale.

I think shopping online is convenient but given I do that so often during the year, it’s nice to get out on Black Friday and take it back to my memories of the 90s. I have memories as a kid going out in the AM in the brisk cold weather long before the internet was around and it’s just refreshing given everyone does shopping online these days (including myself).

Update: No PS5 but got a few shirts. I’m happy :)

I LOVE Best Buy. I got my 12” MacBook from there for like 800ish. I’ll always love them for that alone haha :)

I wanted to go there but I just don’t need electronics right now, and while I don’t mind upgrading despite not needing a new device, nothing is really that compelling.

The new iPhones aren’t worth the upgrade for me at this time and the MacBooks aren’t either.

I don’t take as many selfies as before. If I start to again I will definitely upgrade bc the new iPhone 12 has an AWESOME selfie camera.

I have enough TVs from previous Black Fridays haha

So I skipped Best Buy this year

Btw, if anyone knows where I can get a PS5 let me know. I’m in the market for one but everyone’s buying one and it feels impossible to get right now!!!! 😡

I've used Best Buy a few times for their price matching, and they are good. The best one was back in February, when I decided to purchase a late 2018 Mac Mini. We needed to drive down to Portland to attend a get together with our son, our daughter-in-law, and our new grand son. I located a Best Buy and got one. I actually had a "double whammy" for the savings: Oregon has no sales tax (Washington does, which is the state I live in), and Amazon had the machine for $100 less. So it worked out very, very well. :):)

No shopping online or in person. The shops are still shut here (rightly so) due to COVID. Picking something up on the high street might be like changing (ending).

I am very sorry to hear that. I am in the US and it varies from state to state. Luckily, where I am everything was open.

I was a bit disappointed though when I arrived. Maybe I didn’t go early enough. But when I went to the mall, there was no parking. It was then I knew my chances of getting a PS5 would be slim.

Also, it can be hard to actually shop when there’s so many people. None the less, I was able to buy some stuff.

I don’t even know if I got any real discounts. I just mainly went for the tradition than for the sales (and a PS5 *sigh*)

Overall, it was a fun Black Friday. Honestly didn’t expect to get a PS5 so wasn’t too disappointed. Everyone’s buying one right now and it’s hard to get.
