Before you spend your money, try hitting up the Apple store if there's one close by. Just tell the salesperson you lost yours and see if you can "buy" one there. Now, they don't actually sell them separately at the store, but sometimes you can get a genius to just give you one of the spares from the back room. It's not an official Apple policy, but when I was a specialist, I was able to procure a couple for a few customers. Worst they can do is say no, and you buy one online anyway.

You are joking, right? "Nice" tip man!

WTF with this world now?

Going soooo low for $50?

Oh oh I got one more "tip": I heard that for BJ at the back of your nearest Apple Store you can get "free" iPad ... They can run out of freebies but you can try....

I didn't mean steal it. I meant ask the specialist if they sell just the duckhead. They don't, but sometimes you get a specialist who wants to go above and beyond.

I've been in the specialist's position where someone needed to buy a duckhead. Since we didn't sell them, I went back to the genius room and asked if they had a spare for a customer. They did. The customer walked out with a free duckhead.

Seems right. Consider all the posts here about people who go into the Apple Store to swap out a defective power supply with a frayed cord. Each of those could free up a duck head. Or, shop around for places like OWC or others who have deals on used power supplies. I think t's crazy that Apple doesn't sell these, because they do break.

You can buy them on Amazon for less than $3.
Oops, missed your request for "genuine". :-(
