I went to my local Best Buy to get an Apple Watch band and they only had 3rd party ones... with the boxes open and missing parts.

Is there any 3rd party places that sell original bands? Walmart, Target, places like that?

I'm wanting to get a sport band, or that new woven wrap one, but I want to make sure it'll fit well first. Apple's 2.5 hours from me and I'd rather not mess around with having to return something.

Best Buy and Target are the only ones in my area.

Target usually only stocks a couple.

Check bestbuy.com and look for stock in your area. Some locations have them in odd spots. Meaning not with the aftermarket bands.

Your best buy probably had some but they are usually locked in a case somewhere. Same at target, they are locked in the cabinet with the watches.

I asked the guys at the Apple spot where the bands were and he pointed to the shelf and said that's all they had. They didn't seem to care, even when I told them half the packages were open and one was missing something.

^^^ That's because Best Buy sucks.

Also, this is what we get when we buy everything online and have it mailed to us. Brick-and-mortar retailers stop caring about building a quality selection for the customer and aren't even the preferred sales channels anymore, especially for fly-by-night accessory makers and Kickstarter/Indiegogo hopefuls.

Anyway, ranting aside...

Apple's sizing guidelines are pretty spot-on. You'll get "both" sizes of the Sport band, so if your wrist is within the range Apple suggests, it'll fit fine.

Thanks. Guess I should be good to order.

It'll have to wait. I ordered a case for my upcoming iPhone 8. I dropped my 6 3 times during the first week I got it. It's been in an Apple leather case since then. First time I've ever had that issue with a phone in 15 years.

If you have a Verizonwireless store in town, they carry some bands I think. If they don't sell the band you are looking for separately, it's possible there is one on a Watch3 they are selling and at least you can see it there and then order from Apple. I'm sure the AT&T stores and other carriers would be a similar source.
