Where can I find my Admin name?

I bought a Powerbook G4 off craigslist from a guy and he gave me the password, but no admin name! I want to install a different OS but I can't find his admin name anywhere and he won't pick up the phone.

Under Accounts there is only "Home / Standard"

Under one of the user names it should say "Admin" in the Accounts panel. If there isn't one then something got screwed up on the machine.

You can create a new admin account though. Here's one tutorial on how to.

if you have the restore discs, just reload osx and start from scratch

I am amazed at how people sell computers before wiping the drives!

there was indeed no Admin option under accounts. I ended up installing from the boot up disk! thank you!

If they did that they would have to reinstall all the bootleg software they included to boost the price!
