That's what I did initially. Then adjusted the ratio to 16:10 to make sure proportions are maintained.
But then I used that photo to do a reverse Google-image search and came up with another, higher-res picture that didn't come from the rMBP press shot, which means it should theoretically have no distortion.
Although it was high-res (3000 something pixels wide), the quality isn't very good, which suggests it's not the original photograph Apple used. Apple usually pay for exclusive usage of pictures they use in their promo material, so chances are that if the original picture ever was uploaded online, it's not anymore, so that's the best I can come up with.
