It's "iPhone Wallpaper" that's available from Leopard 10.5 OS X, with size changed to fit the iPhone.

This doesn't help anyone now, but that wallpaper was one of the ones that were preloaded on the iPhone when it first came out. It disappeared after one of the early firmware updates.

No, it definitely was never part of the original iPhone wallpaper. Check what is on your current wallpaper on your 3G iPhone and that's pretty much it. I picked it up at sciphone.net in 2007 around October. 😱
