    for driving external monitors?

I have on order a 2.4 mbp (refurb) and want to hook it to an external monitor. While I am used to the the 1920x1200 of my iMac I think I will hook this one up to a 22 WS (most likely the 2208 untra sharp which does 1680x1050)

I have the miniport to dvi connector on order as well.

    From http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/specs.html

    All Models

Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors.

I saw that note, but no numbers. They have numbers on the native display abilities so I was curious what the numbers were for externals... but I will safely assume if it can be displayed at X on the built in it can do X external (15 should do 1680x1050 easily external)

That depends on the external and not the laptop itself...

    Resolution depends on display.
