I picked one up from the Apple store so I can charge my phone at work.

Monoprice seems pretty expensive still (looking for a place to find them in single digits)

I'd like them in single digits too but I also stick with MiFi certified cables to avoid headaches.
I've bought cheapies from China and they either didn't work out of the bag or else died after a few uses.

Only use the real deal for my stuff. Don't want any of them catching fire because I saved £10 on a cable.

Many cables are discounted on amazon that are apple certified.
    Here's are a few I recommend:

This is my favorite one that I have 3 of:

Pawtec Lightning to USB Charge and Sync Cable Apple MFI Certified for iPhone 5S 5C iPad Mini Air iPod (Black) by Pawtec http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HKSCJ22/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_tBTrtb06PJ0X4

I have this one and it works with no errors on iOS 7.1 but is not apple certified:

It will be fine. I use the 2ft one everyday that is in my bag. 6ft one has a thicker cable...

Better buying here at a great price. For as long as I can remember, they have been Apple retailers since the 80's. I rather support them than Amazon.

Monoprice and Apple. Nothing else. I only get certified cables, anything else I wouldn't trust since it can be written out of iOS at any time.

You're not going to find a good, certified cable for under $10.

Same here. Only use what comes in the official box from the official company.

You'd think everyone would have learned by now with "Man shocked by charging iPhone" stories in China.

I can't take a chance with some low quality cable destroying my iphone. I always get original cable from Apple store to be safe.

Honestly the best place to get them is TJ Maxx. I got an extremely sturdy mifi tylt cable there for $12
