I have as case on my phone.
If I am wearing jeans or chinos it is typically located in my left from pocket. If I am wearing a suit I keep it in the left front pocket of the jacket.
When driving it is located in the middle console connected via cable to CarPlay.

no case, no screen protector (11 Pro Max) ..... right rear pocket, in hand or Wireless charging tray in the car
With case and screen protector. In purse or if without purse, in back right hand pocket.
Original fake iPhone case and a screen protector from Apple + Front right pocket. If I would put it in my back pocket, it would be gone within 10 minutes I am sure.
I used to use iPhones without cases but they are too thin now to grab and hold properly. Also I dont like how warm the phone gets. Cant feel with with a case on

Icarez matte screen and dBrand skin back, front left pocket. Use it with left hand or both. Might try the right.
I never think about which way my screen faces in my pocket, but it would probably be a good idea to have started before my HD2 and P10 suffered from a broken screen due to moving furniture.
I don't keep it in one particular pocket, but it's always in the pocket that does NOT have my keys
Left front pocket, keys right front pocket. With case with rubber sides. Could not hold naked phone reliably due arthritis in the hands.

Case and glass tempered screen protector I carry my phone either in my fanny pack at work, or pocket of shirt and mixture of jacket pocket.
