I have always sold my iPhones on eBay. After paying the seller fees with eBay and PayPal, I'm wondering if there is a better option to sell with few or no fees. I'm curious to find out what my fellow MacRumors forum members do to sell theirs?

I'm trying a new one this time; an app called Orchard. They offered me $525 for my 128gb gold iPhone 6. They have a cool process to determine pricing, which is sort of like an interactive diagnostic of the phone. They give you three pricing tiers depending on how quickly you want to get paid. If you choose the maximum of three weeks after you send them the phone to receive payment, you get the maximum amount of money from them

Doesn't sound like a good trade to me. As of today, 64GB iPhone 6's are still going for $500+ on Swappa.

True, but with Orchard I have a month after I receive my shipping materials to send it in, whereas with Swappa I have to send it within two days of the sale. If Swappa's numbers are still above $525 by the time my 6s is here, then I'll consider it.

If your an avid Amazon shopper and don't mind the gift card Amazon trade in is rather competitive but the payouts have been decreasing since the announcement. You could probably do a little better elsewhere though.

I use Amazon.com these days.

I can't be bothered to use Craigslist or eBay. I'm willing to leave a few dollars on the table to avoid the hassle of a private party sale. I've used Craigslist to sell a couple of old vehicles, but I wouldn't bother with CL for a phone.

I used Gazelle once, that was pretty convenient as well, but Amazon gives back more (in the form of store credit/gift card). That doesn't bother me, I'll eventually spend the money at Amazon anyhow.

Swappa. However in the future I'd like to join the Apple Upgrade Program.

I quit using eBay as there are too many people who do not know the rules, many I can not even have a conversation with as they do not speak English! Have had winners ask after they won if I could ship and let them make payments!!! Most just do not pay and eBay does nothing to them.

I have had the best luck on Craig's List! You got to screen out the tire kickers in the emails but you can tell when someone really wants to make a deal. Meet in a public space and walk away with your money. NO FEES!

The only reason why I stopped using Ebay is because of the the cost. Between Ebay and PayPal, there's really not much left for the seller.

Same here. I have pretty much stopped selling on eBay altogether due to the fraud accounts bidding at the last minute and then never sending payment. Usually for high end camera equipment that I own, I will post on photography forums first before I use eBay.

For phones, I use Swappa exclusively nowadays. I don't even consider eBay anymore.
