i want to get either the small or large iPad Pro and travel with it, possibly with the keyboard case. Is there a spot that the Pencil is stored inside of? Does it fit in the case? Is there some way to tether it to the iPad?

Thanks.

I magnetically attach it to my iPad on the bezel part of the screen. Otherwise it's in a pencil pocket in my backpack

I have a nice slip case from Inateck and my pencil slides in down the side of the Pro. I believe the case is designed for 13" laptops so it obviously has just enough room ;)

seems very odd that storage for the pencil was not integrated somehow either into the iPad or the smart case...

If it were then it would give the impression that the Apple Pencil is required with the Pro. Plus the Pencil is thicker than the iPad Pro - it seems to be about the same thickness as the pro and the non-keyboard part of the Smart Keyboard cover, meaning that the Smart Cover would have to be larger than the iPad somewhere in order for the pencil to fit in.

This is the solution that I came up with, a piece of velcro with double sided sticky tape.

Keep mine in the box packaging and bring it around with me. Together in a plastic tray which also holds some of my other teacher material such as a 10m long hdmi cable and an Apple TV (for use with my iPad Pro).

I plug it into an iPhone dock and it works well, not so much for a cap. that just gets put next to it.
The applestore pencil holders are kind of nice, though.

I have a pencil cozy on the pencil to keep track of the cap. Also, I have a small pouch that I purchased off of amazon that I use when it is being transported in my bag or going to classes at University.
