I have been reading a lot of installing SSD into 27" 2011 imac

most people on here just replaces the original HDD with SSD
some people was able to add SSD to make it SSD+HDD (however it involves installing the drive on the pressure wall (like ifixit and chargedpc shown) definitely more technically difficult

my question is that where does apple install the SSD for SSD+HDD and for those who ordered BTO SSD+HDD option from apple is there a picture on what it looks like and what kind of mounting hardware that apple uses for make SSD+HDD happen?

It installs in a bracket mounted under the optical drive - lying flat underneath bracket < optical drive. That's the factory location when ordering the HDD + SDD option.

You can probably find an image at iFixit. (never mind, I see you've been there)

(Still haven't figured out a way to attach an image from iPad - probably because there isn't one, but I'd glady welcome info to the contrary.)
