I recently reset Safari -- obliterating website logins/passwords, etc. -- without realizing I hadn't remembered any of my YouTube logins, which Safari had been previously auto logging in for me. I'm embarrassed to say I don't even remember what email address I used for my YT account, so I can't recover my login/pass through YT. The YT login/pass isn't in Keychain Access either. But I do have a Time Machine backup prior to the Safari reset, so...

Is it possible to use Time Machine to recover a Safari login/password? If so, where does that file reside?

It’s in keychain, you’d need to recover it to a different location (and call it something like “old.keychain”) and then open it (with keychain access) and search it for eg “youtube”.
[doublepost=1552923174][/doublepost]That assumes keychain access doesn’t provide a granular view for time machine, I can’t say I’ve ever tried to restore a keychain entry that way.

Thanks. Where does the Keychain file live?

That folder has several files, plus a couple of folders:

[folder]
[folder]
login.keychain
login.keychain-db
metadata.keychain
metadata.keychain-db

Any idea which one needs to be recovered?

Did this end up resolving your issue. My Safari passwords disappeared during a migration and am looking to do the same from my Time Machine backups.
