iPod Where is album art saved?

hi all

where is the album artwork located on my computer that itunes automatically downloads? is it embedded directly into the mp3/aac file... or is it stored somewhere else that is accessible to me.

some of the album artwork download from apple is not always cropped great. so i wanted to re-edit in photoshop

by default, should be in your iTunes folder in sub-folder labeled "Album Artwork"

looks like it saves the art in a format called .itc

i think i might be able to copy the art though if I do a get info on a song in itunes
