Apps Where is Messenger?

So Messenger just got updated in iOS, but still no app for the watch.
 
It is! I just figured it out, you don't have a specific app, but when you get a message + notification, you can answer just within the notification just like you can with iMessage! You have mic and all the standard answers

We were all led to believe this would be an app. Responding is one thing, seeing the message thread is another and fully expected.

You're right. And it does work... Every third time...

I had to restart the watch. Then when I went back, the messenger app was just black with "messenger" in the top left. I had to open the messenger app on the phone for my it to fully load up. It is working after that.
 
I think its pretty fluid on the watch after the whole loading. (Yes I also needed to load the App on my iPhone first)

But you cannot start a new Conversation, I expected it for force Touch in the Overwiew of recent Conversations :/

I hope Whatsapp will follow soon.
 
hm... yes and no...

I tested it, switching Phone to Airplane Mode:

The App launches and you will see all recent conversations. You also can use Voice Dictation, Stickers and Stuff.

But, it will not send. I waited for several Minutes, but.. it does not appear in the Web-Chat.

Switching the Phone back to normal, and the Watch-App will send everything you have wrote while Phone was in Airplane mode.

Also: The AW did not received Messages while Phone was in Airplane mode.

so: it will only work with phone nearby.
 
Nah, its useful.

If your Phone is in your Bag/Pocket, you can easily scroll through your history without using your phone.

Better than only Quick Reply :)

I had to delete it from iPhone and watch and reinstall completely for it to work properly.
