where is my library folder?

ok so i cant find my library folder anywhere anymore. i know lion hides it by default but i even tried cmd + shift + g and typing ~\Library. then i tried clicking go in finder and looking for the library icon. then i also tried a terminal command to unhide library...it appears my library folder is missingany help??
Top menu bar in Finder> GO> Hold down the Option key, and it should come up in dropdown menu.
