The emails I delete are not going into the trash. Where are they going?

I am using comcast.net. I also use Safari and Firefox. As you can tell, I am not computer savvy at all.

If you are using a web browser to read your email on your provider's site, deleted mail will not appear in the trash can on your Mac. It should, however, get moved to the TRASH folder within your email account at Comcast... if it's not, I 'd suggest contacting Comcast. I understand that they're "Comcastic".

I will do that. However, on top of the screen, I also get something that comes up that says "An error occurred while moving messages to mailbox “(null)”. Is that connected to the same problem?

Most likely... sounds like something is massively hosed with your email system... and, unfortunately, you are now at the mercy of Comcast... IMO, that's not a good place to be.
