In my MacBook Air (2012) I had this button to see the battery.

Now I got the latest MacBook Air (2014) but I can't find this button. Did they remove it?

^^^^Actually that's not true. If you go to System Preferences > Energy Saver, look at the bottom left corner - You'll see a box you can check titled "Show Battery Status in Menu Bar". Check it. There's also third party utilities that accomplish this.

In the context of this thread, it is true. There is no longer an external button to trigger the lights that display the battery's charge level.

^^^^The question, as I understood it, was "Where is the battery indicator?"

Your Answer was "The battery indicator is no longer a feature on the Macbook Air."

The Battery Status Indicator is in fact a software feature. I showed the OP where to find it and answered his question.

The word "button" in the first post and the inability to locate it on the new Macbook Air, detonates that we are discussing the hardware externally accessible battery indicator. Apple has never referenced the ability to see the battery's charge via OS X as an "indicator", only as a "status". Apple's documentation on the battery indicator can be found here: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201842

I said I'm talking about a button, hard to activate a button via System Preferences..

As Intel said they just removed this button. Thanks for the info.

^^^^Sorry for wasting your and my time:eek: And that's NOT what the title of this thread was!
