I've been looking at various keyboard short cuts overviews, but can't find it. In Word for PC it's Ctrl+G, but cmd+G does't work on mac.

I keep accidentally hitting EndNote references in my text, which takes me to the bibliography, and then I have to scroll all the way back up again... it's annoying.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

F5 calls up the go to dialogue, if that's what you mean?

When I press F5, I only get the function that adjusts the backlight for the keyboard

Sounds like you're not using your function keys as standard function keys - you can change this in system preferences or alternatively, press Fn before pressing F5
