This is the problem. I can’t believe that Apple didn’t AT LEAST use the 401 PPI screens from the Plus models, OR make the screen 1080P (whatever the PPI would have been).

If they had, the XsMax sales would plummet. The 326 ppi was deliberately chosen over 401 ppi to gimp the phone.

Seriously next gen 3D facial biometrics and a 7nm processor is what you call a mess.

When no other oem even offers it on their flagship devices and Apple is offering it on their midrange device. Yeah your not making much sense there.

The screen is basically your whole interaction with the device everytime you're looking at it, there's no excuse for having an handicapped screen on an expensive flagship, so your argument with the A12 or facial recognition don't make any sense.

It’s 828p, well above 720p and 326ppi, well above the limit of human eyes.

What’s with all the “p”s everywhere? Does everyone mean progressive scan or is it supposed to mean pixels? Thought we were talking about lines. After seeing in so many posts I’m thinking I may be reading it differently.

My narrative isn't falling apart at all since my original reply was on how disappointing the XR screen was with a 720p screen, all of those fancy stuff like 7nm processor, nvme etc and and a downgraded screen from the 5.5" inch 8 Plus. Your arguments are pure excuses to seem like it packs such "wonderful" hardware to sound like the screen isn't an issue. You have such ridiculous claims just like saying no other OEM's in the industry offers those features, which makes you sound like a delusional in your own world person, since Android OEM'S have had all those features for years, such as fast processors which in fact beat the GPU in the A11 and it's actually faster in real world performance, 4k Recording, facial recognition, Dolby Vision, and edge to edge displays with no chins, just like Xiaomi and Vivo Nex S, which in fact have smaller bezels than the XR phone you try to defend so bad.
Why would I be interested in the XR since my main point of the reply on this thread was exactly at how disappointing the phone was for having such a bad screen resolution for today's standards? Did you even read the thread title?
i'm really done arguing with this since all your arguments are about the same "fancy" hardware... but but the XR costs $2500 with a 360p, but hey you're paying for an amazing CPU and 3D Facial Hadrware so it's fine, I'm happy. I think the XR is about 50 quid more expensive than it should have been and the screen could have at least matched the 8+ for resolution. This is Apple though and they know the XR is going to be their most popular new device this year and understand consumers often don’t check technical specs. They also needed it to be a certain amount inferior to the XS for sales I think. I agree it does feel like Apple are short changing us somewhat but hey. If I didn’t mind a huge phone like the XR I’d probably buy the 8+ anyway and save £100. There’s nothing on the XR that’s largely superior in terms of experience in my opinion and they are roughly the same size as each other.

So you paid $1k for the X. Meanwhile, I can get the XR which has more advance SoC than your X, still retina screen at more than 300ppi, and for $250 less.

If you only look at ppi, plenty of Android phones better than your X

Specs is irrevelant nowadays on phones. I use a iPhone 6s and this thing is still fast.
However I would never pick a android phone just because it runs android. I fall in love with the operating system not so much about the phone looks and specs itself

It might look "great" but not as sharp as other phones which cost less, and that's what's bad here. We'd thought Apple would stop with this spec downgrades since the 4.7" inch phones with 720p displays but they don't as they increased the size to 6.1" it would be reasonable to atleast keep the 1080P resolution from the 5.5" Plus sized devices.
