It's been a while since it has been submitted to apple, and I haven't heard anything about it. I really like the idea of Lala, and having it on something that is always with me is awesome.

Have any of you heard about it?:)

Yes, of course, Apple did buy Lala ... and they might incorporate it into some sort of online iTunes library that you can stream anywhere. (Or they could get rid of it entirely).

But if they did go with an online iTunes library that you can stream anywhere, being able to stream your entire iTunes library (when online) from anywhere would be pretty cool!

Apple bought Lala for previewing purposes only. Its technology will be assimilated into the collective . Resistance is futile.

No but seriously, they were chump change, Apple liked their infrastructure and wanted to incorporate it into the iTunes preview experience.

I was aware that they bought Lala, but Lala has said nothing about the application correct? Is it safe to say the application was "rejected" for reasons only Apple and Lala knows?

One of the main reasons Apple bought Lala was the talent in the company.

Probably true. That, and also that Google was going after them as well (and Google had just cut a deal with them, I believe).

But if they can incorporate Lala into iTunes (some sort of in-browser iTunes library access or better way to do home-sharing, streaming, etc.) ... that'd be great.

I'm sure this will all be incorporated into Apple's iMedia app.

I hope Apple will use it for more than just previews.
Next logical step for iTunes is to do more online, maybe rebrand Lala etc.

    NO WAY no how

there is no way we will ever see this app unless its by apple and the prices of the songs will increase from 10cents to $1.29.no websongs,no upload of my collection, no try full song before you buy
apple is using that technology to improve genius and 30 sec preview only.
just forget about it. just like flash video.:)
also they will only do it if they had to because some other company got them beat

Lala will undoubtedly change or be done with. It is funny that they are using flash on lala.com (when Apple is not putting flash on the iPad) ... if they keep part of Lala around, they probably would get rid of the web songs ... but the idea of having your whole iTunes library in the cloud is pretty cool and I would hope Apple would do something with that. You could essentially have an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad with not much storage, but still be able to access your whole iTunes library. Regardless, I think they will use it to help the itunes.com dimension of things.

Didn't Apple buy a huge "server farm" somewhere?
