iOS Where is Xcode 8.1 ?

Am I missing something very obvious ?

My Xcode 8.0 does not have an upgrade to Xcode 8.1 via the mac app store. I am running macOS 10.11.6 with the latest security updates, the 8.1GM says 10.11.5 is fine.

I can't run stuff on my device anymore since I upgraded it to iOS10.1.

Isn't Xcode 8.1 out ?

Is 8.1 not available officially yet on Mac App Store? Doesn't it always release when there is a new iOS / macOS update?

No. They often release an iOS update before the matching Xcode is available from the App store, sometimes by a few hours, sometimes by several days. So either wait, or download the beta or GM, or delay updating your iOS devices until you see the new Xcode in the App store and can update your Mac apps first.

If there's a big event coming (WWDC, etc.), it's even more likely that various releases will be delayed until afterwards.

Good to know it is occasionally delayed. Thanks for the information. I thought something might of been wrong with my App Store installed Xcode.

I'll have to remember next time not to update my phone until the Xcode update is out.
