Want to repair my phone but there are so many options for screens and LCD replacements. Where should I get it from? I dont want to spend a ton. Thanks.

Go through Apple, if you have your phone serviced with third part parts you void any warranty and out of warranty work with Apple. Apple will no longer touch your phone that includes out of warranty replacements due to the third party screen. When it comes to replacement parts you get what you pay for. Having managed an Apple Specialist for many years you would be shocked at some of the inferior parts customers pay for just to save a little bit of money.

Not sure how much "a ton" is in $dollars$ but considering Apple only charges $159 for a 6+ screen you might only save a few ounces by doing it yourself rather than risking destroying your phone.

I paid $136 to replace my 6+ screen when it shattered last year. Probably double what the third party circuit would charge, but worth it to me as it was an Apple OEM repair at an Apple store.

In fact it turned out that I got an all new phone for that price as Apple didn't have it's crap together that night and couldn't get the phone to boot. So they replaced it with a new phone for the price of the screen repair.

Unfortunately, Apple wants $350 or so to replace the device. The repair companies say that only the LCD and screen are messed up and it'll cost about $175. So I figured I'd try to do it myself. I guess I could always just sell it if its such a huge gamble, though. Damn. :( Thanks all.

And once you or someone else opens it or replaces parts with non Apple parts forget ever having it serviced by Apple ever again. Pay or no pay Apple won't touch it.

Sounds like they've deemed the phone a total loss then? Do you have more info? They should be offering you a screen replacement at less than half that price if that's all that needs repair.
