Alright so I'm looking at writing an application that is a better interface for posting on some forums. What topics should I start looking at for this? How would I build the forum into an iPhone interface?

How skilled are you in programming? That's one of the more important things.

If you are a beginner then you might want to start with a more common programming language like Java, C/C++, or even the BASIC languages.

If you're skilled, then you should start with the iPhone Application Tutorial.

Note that building a forum into an iPhone interface is difficult as you require the spec sheet on how to interact with the forums through HTTP requests. Essentially, it sounds like you would like to program a vBulletin interface. You'd need to contact the company in order to create a universal application.

Shouldn't be to hard to get started.

I would start with a few examples and compile and modify them until you get a good grasp of using Xcode.

At the same time, research what you need to do to interact with the forums.

That should get you started.
