Really? Just buy the authentic ones and not have to worry about messing with your iPhone. It's only $20.

i buy authentic ones, but for main use for work (i travel a lot) i use a monster cable, which is pretty reliable.

for my car i use a belkin, but there are 5 dollar ones that are cheap.

but 20 dollars? for faulty cables? ONLY 20 dollars is hardly cheap for a cable that withers pretty fast.

I agree with purchasing authentic cables the cost in the long run is worth it. The risk of not going down this route is potential damage to the device and your home (given extreme circumstances)

The Anker mFI certified ones on Amazon. I always always recommend these to everyone. They also come with a 18 month warranty.

I recently backed the following kickstarter of apple certified lightning cables. They look well made and the thicker silicone design doesn't seem like they will wear out at the ends the way normal apple cables do, plus come with a lifetime guarantee.

where to buy cheap reliable lightning cables

Amazon has very high quality lightning cables for $12. I have a few and I'm very happy with them. The stock Apple are too expensive and straight up junk. I don't like how Apple cables fray at the connectors and look like crap because their white.

A good reliable site is Monoprice.com they have good prices and are very durable cables.

Monoprice.com has a lifetime guarantee on its cables, which are fully licensed and certified.

Amazon also has quality, licensed/certified cables for a good price.

I've been using a 6' mono price cable (non-lightning) for at least a year with no issues.

Add me to the club for Monoprice cables. Been using mine for a couple of years now and it's still in great shape.

I've had very good luck with these. Apple cables haven't been that durable for me.

Takes forever to get delivered though, I ordered one on Sept 16th and have a delivery estimate of Nov 3rd

Still, if you order them in advance and can wait that long the price can't be beat.

Certainly agreed. I preordered the two on the first batch and they worked so well I ordered five more. Ordered the second order on 9/16 with delivery 10/6-11/6, pretty big spread there. Definitely not something you order when you are in need of a cable

Belkin and Monster cables are not going to harm your iPhone

they sell Belkins at the apple store.

and monster is a huge company

Maybe this has changed in the last year and a half but the Monoprice cables were barely too thick to fit in my SwitchEasy Tones iPhone 5 case which notoriously has an opening that JUST fits the official cable.

Just got a monoprice cable. Not really robust, we will see how it lasts.

For all my cables I now get Tech Armor. Lifetime warranty and outstanding customer service.
