Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a new MacBook Pro this week, and am wondering where to buy. I've bought my previous machine at MacMall, but am wondering if I'm missing the bigger picture.

I figure MacMall is better because:
-- no tax
-- free goodies
-- cheaper

would you still order at Apple.com?

Thanks!

I stopped buying at MacMall about 10 years ago, when they started being 1/2 a step above those Brooklyn back-o-the-truck shops. They used to be great. I like Apple's refurb store, great prices, same machines, same warranty. And sometimes you get an over-specced box with more ram than you paid for.

🙂 which back-o-the-truck shops?
apple.com refurb is great now - the models from two weeks ago are on a 40%+ off sale now... but I, having waited almost 4 years to upgrade, will get me a shiny new C2D. 🙂

I have always had a good experience with buying stuff from Amazon.com.
Btw, they do not charge any taxes on MBPs as well.
