I'm only finding upgrades listed?
You need to get an OEM version. Subsequent versions are only upgrades.
Which version are you looking for?
Im planning on getting Parallels, looking for windows software, I guess Windows 7 would do?
Amazon sells it, as does Newegg and a few others.
An OEM version can only legally be sold with hardware or under the System Builder program . There are loopholes, but its ugly side is it's only valid for the first machine installed on.
Looks like I will be able to source locally,
One business is selling all there full version Windows 8 for a "clearance price"
Make sure it is 8.1. Because 8 is crap and better off with 7.
You can upgrade to 8.1 free of charge from 8 though?
You are right. Now I know why I hate windows licensing so much.

Tks for the heads-up
Getting cold feet but unfortunately I need windows for some important tasks
Will now check!
Edit: Just checked, 8.1
You can get it through your school or work for $9.75 if they have a licensing agreement with MS. Make sure to get the Win 8.1 64 bit upgrade (MAC edition) when you d/l it.
Tks, have it already
left school 60 years ago and gladly not working
