Where to buy Windows?

    You need to get an OEM version. Subsequent versions are only upgrades.

    Im planning on getting Parallels, looking for windows software, I guess Windows 7 would do?

    Amazon sells it, as does Newegg and a few others.

    An OEM version can only legally be sold with hardware or under the System Builder program . There are loopholes, but its ugly side is it's only valid for the first machine installed on.

    Looks like I will be able to source locally,
    One business is selling all there full version Windows 8 for a "clearance price"

    Make sure it is 8.1. Because 8 is crap and better off with 7.

    You can upgrade to 8.1 free of charge from 8 though? :)

    Getting cold feet but unfortunately I need windows for some important tasks

    You can get it through your school or work for $9.75 if they have a licensing agreement with MS. Make sure to get the Win 8.1 64 bit upgrade (MAC edition) when you d/l it.
