Where can I find apps to download? What are some of your favorites?

Google is a good place to start.
a good place to download applications would be from Versiontracker. there are also some cool blogs that have neat apps.

    http://coolosxapps.net/ is a good one

my favorites, ones I use daily, are Quicksilver (from blacktree), PathFinder (from Cocoatech), Adium, Shiira (it's basically safari, but I like the interface more), menu shade (for when the menubar is too distracting).

Other good ones I use less often are Carbon Copy Cloner (for making backups of my drive), CandyBar, Delicious Library, Google Earth, iSquint, iStat menus (and iStat Pro), Onyx and Tinker Tools, Seashore, Senuti (for taking music from an iPod), Skype, SongBird, TextMate and Finally Think (to get rid of distractions).

Ok, this may be really noobish or lame of me....but are the apps people have on their iphones/ipod touches just os x apps? or are they written for the iphone/ipod touch? also, what do you use to customize the appearance of your touch?
