Yep, a friend just picked up a few last night. If they are sold out (highly unlikely) I know the Apple store at The Westchester mall had a ton yesterday.
It's been reported that full-priced models at AT&T stores are also unlocked. Are you using it in Europe? If so, the Verizon model will actually work better. All Verizon iPhone 5s are unlocked, so a Verizon store may work. Try the Grand Central store if 5th Avenue is too crowded (it usually is).
You might have better luck if you don't limit yourself to the 16GB.

For those who are still on a fence, iPhone 5S (unlocked) - is $549 in APPLE store (New York). Price for a used iPhone 5S (in good condition) dropped to $380.
