Does anyone have any recommendations on where to host a site?

I've heard that the operating system doesn't matter with hosts such as fatcow, godaddy, bluehost, etc. Is this true? I've looked into MacDock & MacHost...they're obviously Mac Friendly but a bit pricey. And of course there is always .Mac.

Just looking for a recommendation and/or feedback.

    Thanks & happy mac'ing

I use Host Monster to host my blog. A tad pricey but no problems whatsoever. not sure if its iWeb friendly as I use Wordpress at the moment. I'm thinking about moving over to iWeb but, I might not. Check them out.

All hosts are mac and iWeb friendly, you don't need to go searching for a Mac specific.

I use Bluehost and like it a lot... and yes, there's no issue using it with a Mac... there isn't for any web host, really. You just need FTP software, which is abundant.

With Bluehost you get 1.5TB of storage, 15TB of monthly bandwidth, IMAP email, SSH, etc, etc, etc, for $6.95/month... can't really beat that. I don't really ever notice any issues either, so I'm happy.

Price difference between MacDock and BlueHost ? What's the catch?

Any ideas why MacDock is more expensive than BlueHost and seemingly offers same or less?

I'm trying to decide and I liked MacDock because it was linked from RapidWeaver (the web design software I'm using) but than I saw BlueHost and it seems better and cheaper?

    Am I missing something obvious?

Blue Host five stars but beware...

Have found Blue Host to be excellent -- customer service really works! BUT they must have noticed that limitless ftp capacity was a problem (for them!!) as the terms of use have changed and they have now made file storage forbidden--they are being nice to us long term users though--they are emphasizing the web site hosting part of their service.
